The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has directed the Homicide Section of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja to conduct a thorough and comprehensive investigation into the alleged killing of Qoyum Abdulyekeen Ishola, a student of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.
The incident, which occurred on September 4, 2024, has led to the identification and detention of three police officers: Inspector Abiodun Kayode, Inspector James Emmanuel, and Sergeant Oni Philip, who are attached to the Department of Operations, Kwara State Command.

In a statement, Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, said the IGP is deeply saddened by the incident and has expressed his condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased. The IGP has assured that justice will be served, acknowledging the profound grief and loss caused by the unfortunate act.
