The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced a major redeployment of senior officers, aimed at boosting operational flexibility and injecting fresh ideas across various aspects of the service.
The shake-up, approved by Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, affects several Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding, Directors, and Commanders.
According to a statement by Group Captain Kabiru Ali, NAF’s Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, the redeployment is designed to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. The statement noted that the move affects several senior officers, including:
– Air Vice Marshal Olasunkanmi Abidoye, redeployed from the Defence Headquarters to NAF Headquarters as the Chief of Standards and Evaluation
– Air Vice Marshal Adeniyi Amesinlola, previously the Commandant at the Armed Forces Resettlement Centre, now to serve as the Chief of Transformation and Innovation at NAF Headquarters
– Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Adamu, now Group Managing Director of NAFIL Group
– Air Vice Marshal Iboro Etukudo, appointed as the Chief of Policy and Plans
– Air Vice Marshal Francis Edosa, now the Chief of Training and Operations
– Air Vice Marshal Dalhat Ladan, now the Chief of Air Intelligence
– Air Vice Marshal Suleiman Usman, now the Chief of Communication and Information Systems
– Air Vice Marshal Sayo Olatunde, to serve as Chief of Defence Policy and Plans at the Defence Headquarters
– Air Vice Marshal Lanre Oluwatoyin, to serve as Chief of Defence Space Administration at the Defence Headquarters
Additionally, the following officers were affected:
– Air Vice Marshal Ibikunle Daramola, previously the Chief of Communication and Information Systems, reassigned as the Chief of Civil-Military Relations
– Air Vice Marshal Abiola Amodu, who served as the Director General of the Air Force Research and Development Institute, now the Chief of Aircraft Engineering
– Air Vice Marshal Patrick Phillips, now the Chief of Logistics
– Air Vice Marshal Elijah Ebiowe, appointed as the Air Officer Commanding Tactical Air Command in Makurdi
– Air Vice Marshal Sunday Aneke, takes over as the new AOC Mobility Command in Yenagoa
– Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdullahi, now overseeing the Air Training Command in Kaduna
– Air Vice Marshal Adeniran Ademuwagun, appointed as the AOC Logistics Command in Ikeja
The redeployment is seen as a strategic move to reposition the NAF for optimal performance and effectiveness.
