AGroup of eight daredevil armed robbers attacked travellers on the Ife-Akure expressway, raping a female victim and shooting the driver of a commercial bus.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when the robbers stopped two vehicles, a bus and a car, traveling from Lagos to Ilesa near Osu.

The robbers made off with valuables, including ATM cards, and forced victims to transfer funds into their accounts.

A victim, Wale, recounted the ordeal, stating that the driver was shot but not killed, and a female passenger was raped.

Wale and a few others escaped into the bush and alerted security operatives, who quickly responded and arrested one of the robbers.
