The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Miller Dantawaye, has announced a restriction of movement across the Federal Capital Territory from 6:am to 6:on on FCT Police Command Announces 12 Hours Restriction of Movement for Abuja Area Council Elections, 21st February, 2026, in view of the scheduled Area Council Elections.

Spokesperson of the Command, SP Josephine Adeh said, “The restriction will apply to all residents except essential service providers and duly accredited election officials.

“The FCT Police Command urges residents to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and cooperate with security agencies to ensure a safe, free, and credible electoral process.

‘Members of the public are also encouraged to report any suspicious persons or activities through the Command’s emergency lines: 08032003913 and 08061581938.’
