    MURIC congratulates Sonaike, wife on turbaning ‎

    The entire members of Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Lagos State Chapter congratulate and felicitate with the Vice President II of the Muslim Ummah of Southwest Nigeria (MUSWEN), Alhaji Thabit Wale Sonaike and his wife Alhaja Bilikis Tokunbo Sonaike on their turbaning as the Baba Adinni and Iya Sunnah of Akoka Muslim Central Mosque, Akoka Lagos State.

    The glorious event which was held on Sunday, 1st February 2026 at the Nigerian Army Sports Centre, Somolu was graced by dignitaries across Nigeria.

    The congratulatory message, according to the MURIC Lagos State Chairman, Dr Busari Jamiu Muhammad Ademola reads:

    “It was indeed a glorious day for Alhaji Thabit Sonaike and his wife, Alhaja Bilikis Sonaike on their turbaning as prominent Muslim title holders in Akoka, Lagos. The Baba Adinni of Akoka is a seasoned banker, Muslim leader, philanthropist and a devoted Muslim who has expended his entire life and wealth on the cause of Islam and humanity. It is gratifying to note that his turbaning and that of his wife were an indication of their selfless service to Islam for decades.

    “We congratulate them and pray that Almighty Allah will grant them good health, protection and wealth to continue their good works in the service of Islam and humanity.

    “MURIC also urges Alhaji and Alhaja Sonaike to remain steadfast as before, to uphold the rope of Allah and continue their religious adventures through which they are known by all and sundry.

    “We beseech Allah to preserve the Sonaikes on goodness and grant them long life and prosperity fortified with Allah’s guidance and blessings.
