The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II has secured admission into the state owned university, Northwest University to study law.
A letter signed by the university’s Head of Directorate of Examinations, Admissions and Records, Jafaru Muhammad on behalf of the Registrar, said the Emir was offered the special admission after satisfying the requirements of the university for the special consideration.
Muhammad in the letter addressed to the Emir and dated 12th January, 2026, said the Emir was admitted into 200 level for the degree programme, LL.B in Common Law and Shariah in the university’s faculty of Law.
According to the letter, “With Reference to your application for special admission into this University, I write to convey the University approval of your admission into Northwest University, Kano after satisfying the University requirements for special consideration.
“Accordingly, you have been accepted for admission into LL.B. Common Law and Shariah degree programme in the Faculty of Law, Level 200, with effect from 2024/2025 Academic Session.
“The admission is subject to your complying with the rules and regulations contained in the Northwest University Student Handbook. While I congratulate you on the development, you are therefore requested to proceed with your registration in the following units of the University accordingly,” the letter however reads.
