The United States President, Donald Trump has disclosed that he ordered US forces to conduct “numerous’ deadly strikes against Islamic State terrorists in Northwestern Nigeria, vowing more attacks if the militants keep killing Christians.
Trump disclosed this on his Truth Social platform on Thursday noting that the Department of War executed numerous perfect strikes.
He said, “Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even centuries!
“I have previously warned these terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay, and tonight, there was.
“The Department of War executed numerous perfect strikes, as only the United States is capable of doing.
“Under my leadership, our country will not allow radical Islamic terrorism to prosper.
“May God bless our military, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all, including the dead terrorists, of which there will be many more if their slaughter of Christians continues.”
Also posted on X, US Defence Secretary, Pete Hegseth, said he was “grateful for Nigerian government support and cooperation.”

On its part, the US Africa Military Command said in a post on X that it conducted a strike, which killed multiple ISIS terrorists in Sokoto State.
“At the direction of the President of the United States and the Secretary of War, and in coordination with Nigerian authorities, U.S. Africa Command conducted strikes against ISIS terrorists in Nigeria on Dec. 25, 2025, in Sokoto State”.

In a related development, the Defence headquarters said on Friday that the joint US and Nigerian military strikes against ISIS terrorists elements in North West Nigeria, “was carried out with the approval of the appropriate Federal Government authorities”.
Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba made this known on Friday in a statement titled, “Armed Forces of Nigeria in conjunction with the United States conducts precision strikes against foreign ISIS elements in North West Nigeria”.
Major Gen Uba disclosed that “the operation was carried out with the approval of the appropriate Federal Government authorities.
He said it “forms part of ongoing coordinated efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and other criminal groups threatening Nigeria’s national security.
According to him, “the strikes were based on credible intelligence and followed detailed operational planning designed to significantly degrade the capabilities of the targeted elements while minimising collateral damage.
Major General Uba noted that “the joint operation underscores the resolve of the Federal Government of Nigeria, working alongside strategic international partners, to confront transnational terrorism and prevent foreign fighters from establishing or expanding footholds within the country.
He reaffirmed “the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property,
The DDI stressed that “the military will continue to support joint, inter-agency, and international efforts aimed at restoring lasting peace and security across all parts of the country.
