    NUJ Lagos Announces 2025 Press Week Award Recipients

    The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, has announced the recipients of its 2025 Press Week Awards. The awardees were chosen for their outstanding contributions to the union, public governance, and responsible leadership.

    The recipients include Mr. Olatunji Bello, Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), who will be honoured for his contributions to NUJ and public governance.

    Others are Mr. Idris Aregbe, Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts, and Culture; Mr. Olusina Thorpe, former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy Lagos State; Mr. Lanre Bajulaiye, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy Lagos State; and Dr. (Mrs.) Abimbola Oyetunde, Deputy President, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

    “The NUJ Lagos State Council recognises the huge contributions of these awardees to the development of the Union and to Lagos State,” said Adeleye Ajayi, Chairman of NUJ Lagos.

    “Their dedication, service, and leadership continue to inspire excellence within the journalism profession and the broader civic space,” Ajayi added.

    The awards will be presented at the Gala/Awards Night on Friday, 28 November 2025, at BOS Hall, LTV Complex, Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos, at 4pm.

    “The 2025 Press Week celebration promises to be a memorable gathering of media professionals, stakeholders, and partners united in advancing the cause of journalism and good governance,” said Wale Akodu, Chairman, Press Week Committee.

    The awardees are set to be celebrated for their achievements during the 2025 Press Week.
