Former Chief Registrar, Borno Cooperatives Society, Mallam Garba Bala Abubakar, his wife and two (2) females suspected to be family members have died in a fire inferno that erupted in their house, along Damboa road, General area of Maiduguri metropolis.
The incident according to findings by our correspondent took place in the early hours of Sunday.
The remains of the victims have been buried according to Islamic rites, even as Social Media users took on their Facebook pages expressed shock and offered their condolences.
According to a family friend name withheld, who took to his Facebook said: “Inna lillahi, wa inna illahi raj’uun.
Garba Alhaji Bala Abubakar (alias Gabson) was reported to have died in the early hours of today along with his wife and two other female members of the family in a domestic fire outbreak suspected to have been ignited by electrical surge from public source.
“The deceased retired as a Chief Registrar of Cooperative Societies with the Borno State Government and later worked with a private borehole drilling company.

“Not long ago, we spoke extensively on contemporary issues and assured him that I would visit him in his new house whenever I come to Maiduguri, not knowing that was the last time I would speak with him. Allahu akbar!
“A very humble and down to earth personality is gone along with cherished members of his immediate family.
They had since been buried in Maiduguri today. May Allah (swt) admit them into Aljannah Firdausih”
