The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old man for allegedly defiling a six-year-old girl, even as operatives recovered stolen items and apprehended suspected criminals across different parts of the state.

According to police sources, the arrest followed a series of intelligence-led operations carried out between August 25 and 28, 2025.

In one incident, the suspect, identified as Adabi Adelaja of Aiyetoro, was apprehended after the victim’s mother raised an alarm. The child has since been taken for medical examination, while the suspect remains in custody.

Similarly, operatives at Oke Itoku Division arrested a suspected fraudster, Taiwo Folashade, who allegedly duped one Prophet Solomon of ₦650,000 under the guise of providing spiritual help for fertility. Police said the suspect fled after the act, and efforts are ongoing to track her down.

In another case, police at Iperu Division rescued a woman after her husband, identified as Gaps Adebowale, allegedly threatened to shoot her during a domestic dispute. Officers swiftly responded and recovered a pump-action gun from the suspect’s residence.

Also, operatives attached to Olambe Division apprehended 23-year-old Adamu Magaji for conspiracy and theft of property belonging to a Chinese company at Olambe Industrial Estate. Recovered items include luxury bags, mattresses, palm slippers, and shoes worth millions of naira.
Meanwhile, two suspected criminals, William Ajasco (45) and Rasaq Oke-Igbara (43), were arrested by a patrol team at Landerin. Both suspects, who hail from Abeokuta, were caught in possession of four different mobile phones believed to have been stolen.

Confirming the development, the Command’s spokesperson SP Omolola Odutola said investigations are ongoing and assured residents that the police remain committed to ridding the state of criminal elements.
