A fatal incident occurred recently on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, when an unidentified individual was electrocuted while attempting to vandalize a PHCN transformer.

According to reports filed at the Lagos State Police Command, a security officer on duty at a nearby company witnessed the incident. The officer noticed the individual climbing the gate adjacent to the transformer and suspected that he was attempting to tamper with or vandalize the electrical equipment.

The man was tragically electrocuted and fell into the compound, where he died instantly. The Lagos Police were promptly alerted, and a team from the Anti-Crime Patrol was dispatched to the scene. The team conducted a thorough investigation, documenting the site and taking photographs.

The PHCN office was also contacted regarding the incident. Speaking on the incident, Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the fatal electrocution and emphasized the dangers of illegal activities involving electrical installations.
