Campaign posters promoting former President Goodluck Jonathan for the 2027 presidential election have appeared in Kaduna, fuelling fresh political speculation about a possible return to the nation’s top office.
The posters, which were seen in parts of Kaduna, were pasted at strategic locations, drawing the attention of commuters and residents on Monday.
Some of the posters were spotted along the busy Ahmadu Bello Way and around Kawo Bridge, where passers-by stopped to take a closer look at the campaign messages displayed on them.
The posters carried bold inscriptions including “One Term to Reset, One Nation to Unite” and “2027: Sai Maimalfa,” prompting discussions among residents and political observers about the possibility of Jonathan re-entering the presidential race.

A group known as the GEJ Restoration Movement claimed responsibility for the posters, saying the move was part of a grassroots effort to encourage the former president to consider contesting the next presidential election.
According to members of the group, Jonathan remains a respected national figure whose leadership could help bridge political divisions and address the country’s economic challenges.
The development has nonetheless stirred debate within political circles, with some analysts suggesting that the appearance of the posters may signal early political realignments ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, however, downplayed the development, describing it as a routine political occurrence often seen years before major elections.
They maintained that such early campaign materials should not be interpreted as a definitive sign of Jonathan’s political intention.
