14,776 Ebonyi residents benefit from Presidential grants

In a heartwarming display of government support, 14,776 residents of Ebonyi State have received Presidential grants, totaling N738.8 million.

This initiative, part of the Presidential Concessional Grants Scheme, aims to empower traders and business owners across the state’s 13 local government areas.

Each beneficiary received N50,000 to boost their businesses, bringing hope and relief to many families. Mr. Martins Zohu, representing the Office of the Vice President, confirmed that the program is ongoing, with plans to continue supporting traders and business owners.

But that’s not all. The federal government has also approved an additional N75 billion funds for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), making it easier for residents to access loans of up to N5 million at a reduced interest rate of 9%.

The Bank of Industry’s State Manager, Chukwudi Asieuman Asiegbu, encouraged interested residents to register for the SMEs loan scheme through their website.

Beneficiaries like Kindness Nneka Ogbonna, Confidence Uche Kalus, and Amechi Nwalis have already seen the positive impact of the Presidential grants on their businesses. They expressed gratitude to the federal government and look forward to the opportunities presented by the new SMEs scheme.
